The survey is being conducted by the Public Outreach and Engagement Team (POET) at the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and on behalf of the Transportation Review Board’s Transit Cooperative Research Program. We are sending this survey to public transit agencies of all sizes and types throughout the United States. Lessons from this research will be used to help address significant gaps in public engagement guidance currently available to transit agencies seeking to use virtual tools to facilitate two-way communication with the community, potential passengers, and current riders. The guidance will be memorialized in a technical memorandum, fact sheet, and webinar which will be made available to your agency upon completion.
Please share with others: In addition to completing the survey yourself, please share this survey with others at your agency (including consultants who can respond on behalf of your agency) who have been involved in virtual public engagement before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What to expect: The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Most questions are multiple-choice, with a few open-ended to provide additional detail. For the best user experience, we highly recommend that you complete this survey on a desktop or tablet, rather than a mobile phone.
Your privacy: Your name and contact information will only be used by the research team to follow up if clarification is needed on your responses. Survey results and the research publication will only identify the agency named as the respondent, not the individual.
Deadline: The survey will close on June 1st.
