With the passing of SB 840 the timing and process of allocating Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funds (GGRF) to the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP) will change. These changes bring two major issues that need to be addressed; (1) between now and July 1, 2026, the program will have six (6) quarterly auction sales that need to be allocated and distributed, (2) the date of annual Allocation/Call for Project will need to be moved from February to July or August. LCTOP staff has always strived to be transparent and flexible, knowing regional planning agencies and transit operators across the state use LCTOP to fund important community transit projects. With this in mind, the LCTOP team would like to invite all regional planning agencies and transit providers to a meeting Thursday, December 18, 2025, to discuss the programs future cycles. The meeting will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM but will be in an office hours format, with a quick 10-minute presentation happening every 30 minutes followed by a 20-minute question and answer.
