Transit Talks: SB114 COVID 19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave Requirements

Wednesday, March 2nd

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

On February 9, Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 114 (Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review) [Chapter 4, Statutes of 2022], emergency legislation that requires employers with more than 25 employees to provide their employees with up to 80 hours of COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave. The law, which went into effect on February 19, and which is retroactive to January 1, 2022, will remain in effect through September 30, 2022.

To support implementation of the law, the State of California made available on February 18 a series FAQs; to further clarify your requirements as an employer, we have organized a Transit Talks, which will be led by the Department of Industrial Relations.
