The CALACT Driver Roadeo begins on Saturday March 14th at 9:00 A.M. with driver training and a
possible practice time depending on the number of drivers . On Sunday, March 15th, the Roadeo continues
with an on-the-road skills competition which helps drivers fine tune behind the wheel performance,
wheelchair securement and pretrip events. Drivers can compete in the body on chassis or 35-
foot bus division.
Maintenance competitors will complete on Saturday, March 14th at 9:00 AM at the City of Clovis.
Competitors will complete a written test and maintenance technical skill assessments. The
Maintenance Competition will be on Saturday only.
This event is in partnership with the California Rural Transit Assistance Program, Caltrans
and Victor Valley Transit Authority.
Cash prizes and trophies are awarded to the top two maintenance technicians and top four drivers and
top three driver teams that complete the competition. First place is $600, Second place is $400 and
Third place is $200. The first-place driver and maintenance technician will receive scholarships to
send them to compete in the CTAA National Driver Roadeo on May 9th and 10th in Omaha, NE. and
the APTA Maintenance roadeo in Salt Lake City

Rural and Small Urban agencies that receive 5311 and 5310 funding can qualify for a scholarship of
