As General Manager and CEO of the host agency for California's Public & Community Transportation Conference & EXPO, I invite you to attend November 4-7, 2008 in scenic Monterey, California. This year's event is truly historic, as it will be jointly presented by CalACT and the California Transit Association, making it bigger and better than ever. We anticipate a record turnout and more diverse audience. It will be a great opportunity to network with transit professionals throughout California, and learn about the latest industry technologies and trends.
The conference and EXPO will be held at the beautiful Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center, located in the center of historic downtown Monterey. This year's theme is Building Partnerships for the Future. The program is designed to benefit professionals from all aspects of transit, and give exhibitors and sponsors the opportunity to reach leaders and decision makers to promote new products.
While in Monterey, we hope you will take part in great special events and activities we have planned in association with the conference. Join us at one of our spectacular local golf courses for a friendly golf tournament designed as a fund-raiser for the American Public Transit Foundation's Frank J. Lichtanski Memorial Scholarship. See the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium as we gather with friends, colleagues and business associates for the conference's evening reception. Taste the local wine country on MST's award-winning Carmel Valley Grapevine Express, which departs hourly from right in front of the conference center and hotels with stops at over 10 tasting rooms and wineries.
